Guess i havent been the only thinking about my future..seems as if me and kels have had about the same mind set lately!
read this entry from her.
anyway...heres some of my thoughts on dating and...BOYS!
I think us ladies really need to be more skeptical about guys and need to stop rushing into relationships and thinking that they are the "real thing". i know how hard it is to take a stand, set your boundaries and sometimes let go of something that you dont wanna let go of. ive put my heart into 'relationships' (dating or just hanging out) and i end up getting my heart trampled on...but now as i look back...those boys werent it. not even close. either their priorities werent set (i want a guy that always puts God first) or they end up finding a 'new girl'(or i find out about the 'new girl'!). Ive always thought that once the 'perfect guy' steps down into my life I'd see fireworks or, i dont know...some sort of sign...but its not like that. at all. i honestly trust that i eventually will be led to the right guy...he could be right infront of my face, down the street or 1,000's of miles aways. I have no idea. Right now, I just pray that God will protect my heart. all i need to do is rely on him...not some guy that will get bored of me after 2 weeks, or tell me im pretty to just 'get some'.
i love this verse that kelsey read to me a few weeks ago while at k4k
"It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes."
Psalm 118:8-9
Now Im not saying that all guys are conniving, and that your boyfriend might not be it...he MIGHT BE...im just saying that we need to guard our hearts and TRY not to get toooo upset if our boy dumps us. We should figure out their priorities and also find out ourselves.
Im currently absolutly crazy about a boy, but i need to always remind myself that if it doesnt work...then Im ment for another boy and hes ment for another girl. which actually sort of upsets me even thinking about...but thats how it is...God has it planned out and i really shouldnt even be worrying about it. He has SO much of a better plan for me then i do for myself...sometimes i need that reminder.
anyway, sorry about jumping around some...but theres my heart on the internet.
loooove this. and you. how come we think the same so often?
ReplyDeletethat's something i've thought about it a lot. if i do decide to date someone someday, then it will be really hard to accept if he's not "the one." i think's that's what makes it so difficult for me to try and date in high school. so many high school relationships are big, gigantic, humassive FAILS, and i don't want to even try to deal with that. and then there's the whole...how far would you want to go with a guy if you knew it wouldn't last? would you want to hold his hand? would you want to kiss? it's just like...endless possibilities. how much of yourself are you willing to give for a relationship that might not be IT?
life and guys and relationships give me a headache.
